Policies , Terms and Conditions

ORDERING. Orders may be placed right here through the shopping cart function on this website. You Must Agree to our Policies, Terms and Conditions to place an order. You will be required at check out to answer if you agree before order is placed.


HATCHING EGGS: We sell our eggs in groups of 6 or 12. 

MINIMUM ORDER. The minimum order is six (6) Hatching Eggs. If you would like to make a custom hatching egg order of different rare breeds, please send us a message, we will be happy to put your custom order together for you. 


We do include 1 free extra egg in every 6 pack order. The free extra eggs will be eggs from breeds included already in your order. If you are purchasing an assortment then the free extras will be selected by the farm staff. The eggs will have a pen letter written on the shell to indicate which breed and or pen the hatching egg originated. Please make sure your inspected, tested, tried and true incubator can hold this amount of eggs.


We mail hatching eggs UPS on week days only. This gives the fastest best shipping scenario, and gives UPS the best opportunity to deliver your eggs quickly. 


SHIPPING POLICY: Please note that the estimated delivery date on your tracking number is just that—an estimate. While we do our best to carefully package and ship your order on time, we cannot guarantee exact arrival times once the package is in the hands of the carrier. For that reason, we do not offer refunds on shipping costs or hatching eggs if your package arrives later than expected.

We do not receive postage refunds from UPS, so we kindly ask for your understanding on this.

Our $35 flat shipping fee covers both shipping and handling for up to 18 hatching eggs per box. If you’re ordering more than 18 eggs, please place a second order, so we can ship your eggs safely in separate, properly cushioned boxes. IF YOU ADD MORE THEN 18 HATCHING EGGS TO YOUR ORDER, I WILL CANCEL YOUR ORDER AND CONTACT YOU.

We pack every order with care to give your eggs the best chance at a safe journey and successful hatch! DO NOT ORDER HATCHING EGGS IF YOU CANNOT AGREE TO THIS POLICY. 


TIMING OF SHIPMENT: At Paragon Hatchery, we work with rare and specialty chicken breeds, and as a small, family-run micro-hatchery, we do everything we can to give accurate shipping estimates. However, when you're working with just a few hens of each breed—some of which lay seasonally or sporadically—timing can be unpredictable.

Egg availability depends on many natural factors: weather, molting, broody behavior, and even just a hen deciding she needs a break. Because of this, there may be a wait of several weeks or even months for certain rare breeds.

We are not a large-scale commercial hatchery—we raise and collect from a small number of carefully selected birds. So if your order takes a little longer to ship, please know it’s because we’re committed to sending you the healthiest, freshest, most fertile eggs possible.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work with nature's schedule, not a factory's timeline. Your dream flock is worth the wait! DO NOT ORDER HATCHING EGGS IF YOU CANNOT AGREE TO THIS POLICY. 


PAYMENT. Full payment is due before hatching egg or day old chicks at preorder. We respect your privacy and never share or sell your personal information with any third parties. IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO ACCEPT YOUR ORDER WHEN WE CONTACT YOU WITH YOUR SHIPPING INFORMATION, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ACCEPT THE EGGS / CHICKS OR HAVE ANOTHER PERSON ACCEPT THEM ON YOUR BEHALF. IF YOU CANCEL YOUR ORDER, WE KEEP A 100% OF PURCHASE FEE OF YOUR MONEY DUE TO THE PROCESS FEES AND DISRUPTION OF ORDER PROCESSES TO SHIFT ALL ORDERS, TIMELINESS AND EGG COUNTS. THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE, DO NOT PURCHASE EGGS IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS POLICY.


Day Old Chick Purchase (LOCAL PICK UP & SHIPPED): All of our day-old chicks are sold as straight run, which means you will receive a mix of males and females, as determined naturally. We do not vent sex chicks, and we cannot guarantee the number or ratio of roosters to hens in your order.

By purchasing straight run chicks, you understand that your order may include all males, all females, or a combination of both. We are unable to offer refunds or replacements based on the gender of the chicks received.

The only exception to this policy is with auto-sexing breeds—such as 55 Flowery Hen, Bielefelder and Cream Legbar—where chicks can be visually sexed at hatch due to their markings. DO NOT ORDER CHICKS IF YOU CANNOT AGREE TO THIS POLICY.

🥚 Paragon Hatchery – Hatching Egg Policy

At Paragon Hatchery, we take great care in preparing and shipping hatching eggs. Because we work with live animals and a time-sensitive process, please read and understand our policies before placing an order.

❌ Cancellations & Refunds

  • All cancellations must be made before a shipping notice or tracking number is issued you will recieve ZERO refund.
     
  • All canceled orders are subject to a 100% cancellation fee. This covers non-refundable processing fees charged by payment providers and the costs of reserving, preparing, and packing your order. You will NOT recieve any refund if you cancel. DO NOT PREORDER, ORDER IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT TO THIS POLICY. If you cancel, you get ZERO refund and be placed on a DO NOT SELL list, shared with other hatcheries.
     
  • Once eggs are packaged and assigned for shipment, orders cannot be canceled YOU are responsible once your order is delivered to care for or set up someone to care for your purchased hatching eggs.
     

⚠️ Please only order hatching eggs if you are fully committed to the process and accept the risks involved. We are a small, family-run hatchery, and last-minute cancellations create waste and lost opportunities to serve other customers.

📑 NPIP Certification

  • A copy of our NPIP VS Form 9-3 can be included in your order upon request. Please note this on your order form if you would like documentation.
     

🐣 Hatch Rate Disclaimer

  • We do not guarantee hatch rates. Your results may range from 0% to 100%.
     
  • You are purchasing fertile eggs, not live chicks. Please do not order hatching eggs unless you understand and accept this risk.
     
  • Hatch results depend on many factors outside of our control, including:
     
    • USPS/UPS handling during shipment
       
    • Your incubation conditions and equipment
       
    • Natural changes in fertility, mating, and laying cycles
       
    • The unknown fertilization status of each individual egg at the time of lay
       

Because of these variables, we do not offer refunds or replacements for unhatched eggs.

We greatly appreciate your feedback! Please base your review on our customer service, communication, packaging, and egg quality upon arrival, rather than hatch rates, which are outside our control.

Shipping eggs is always a risk. If you are not comfortable with the possibility of low or no hatches, please do not place an order.

📦 Paragon Hatchery – Shipped Day-Old Chick Policy

At Paragon Hatchery, the health and safety of your chicks are our top priority. Please review our live arrival policy below before placing your order.

✅ Live Arrival Guarantee

  • We guarantee 100% live arrival of the chicks you purchase within 24 hours of delivery/pick up from USPS.
     
  • Whenever possible, we include extra chicks at no additional charge to help ensure you receive the full number you ordered.
     

📦 Shipping Conditions

  • We carefully monitor weather conditions and USPS schedules to ship only when it is safe for the chicks.
     
  • Shipments are scheduled to minimize stress and risk during transit.
  • You are responsible for communication with your local USPS office, to make sure you are notified IMMEDIATELY when your chick order has arrived. Generally, they arrive to local P.O. around 5:30-6:00 AM.
     

📝 Reporting a Loss

  • If you do not receive the number of live chicks you purchased, you must notify us within 24 hours of pick-up from your local USPS office.
     
  • Please email us at Report@ParagonHatchery.com with the following:
     
    • Total number of chicks received
       
    • Live count and deceased count
       
    • Clear photos of all deceased chicks as well as all live chicks to equal your paid for order (required for consideration of reimbursement)
       

💵 Refunds & Extras

  • We do not reship replacement chicks. Instead, we provide a refund for the cost of any deceased chicks from your purchased order.
     
  • Refunds apply only to purchased chicks — not to extras we may include.
     
    • Example: If you purchase 10 chicks and we ship 12, but 1 arrives deceased, a refund is not issued because you still received 11 live chicks, which is more than your order.
       
  • Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable under all circumstances.

We take great care to package and ship your chicks responsibly. Including extras is our way of protecting your order, but please remember that live animal shipping carries inherent risks. By ordering from Paragon Hatchery, you agree to the terms of this policy.
